Human trafficking and Modern Slavery crimes are on the increase. Many factors are responsible; the greed of traffickers, the need for low cost labour, an increase in drug markets, conflict across the world providing a pool of potential victims for exploitation.
However, the response of law enforcement and the criminal justice system is often poor. Officers and staff rarely get the detailed training needed to combat this crime. The crimes can be complicated and the size of the investigations daunting, however, knowledge is power.
It is the desire of the Counter Trafficking Network to facilitate learning and information exchange between professionals with the simple aim of improving the response to human trafficking and the representation and support to victims.
The Law Enforcement Forum is intended to bring together professionals to share experiences, ask questions and to engage with peers to build relationships and knowledge. Please examine our training catalogue or visit the forum to connect with others, and even learn something new. The benefits of membership also allow you to browse one of the most up to date resource libraries for further learning and broadening your personal knowledge on human trafficking and modern slavery.
